Styling a Console Table

If you have seen my post from New Entryway Decor – 2020′ then by now you see I didn’t change much of this look. There’s something so simple, inviting and airy about this section to me. Truth be told, I decided to change my old apartment entryway table to this because I already knew by then that I was moving here and had the perfect spot for this. I didn’t change much, all I did was move the blue glass vase and add a ceramic white vase instead. I also got some more dried pampas from my Favorite place Luxebpampasgrass.com. 

I wanted to focus this blog post on how to style/decorate a console table in the simplest steps. 

There’s many ways of decorating a console table so I’ll keep it short and to the point but adding some tips along the way. Lets begin with the essentials. You will need a simple yet elegant and functional console table. Now, if you notice I used a console table with storage because lets face it, in New York, you need all the storage you can get, use one that fits best for your space. 

Next, I would choose  a center piece. This can be a wall mirror/painting hanging on the wall or a mirror leaned against the wall. I went with a round mirror just because this will make the space appear larger but as mentioned before, choose something that fits your space. 

After,  we move on to my favorite part which is decorating the console table. There are many ways of doing so but one of my all time classic styles will be the following;

• Add height by adding lighting with a table lamp. (This can be just one lamp or you can even add a lamp on both sides) 
• Balance height with flowers, also add a vase. ( I went with my dried pampas for a bohemian look but greenery will work just fine, depending on your space and decor)
• Add unique objects or personal items. (I added a picture frame, an elephant for good luck) 

Other options can be;

• A stack of books
• Adding a sculpture on top of books
• Adding a center piece under the mirror/panting, a vase would be ideal
• Candles or fragrance diffuser

Last thing I want to bring up is if you have an open console table, by that I mean you don’t have storage underneath and it’s completely open, you can easily add the following;

• Adding ottomans, this can be one or two below seating
• Adding some baskets with throw and pillows will soften the look and add some color
• Adding some tall or unique looking candle holders
