Decorating Floating Shelves/ TV Console

Happy Thursday! 

Who would have thought that decorating shelves would be so difficult! Honestly, I am more of  art on my walls type of gal. If you notice from my prior home decor (Living Room Decor – Update 2020′) I normally like to mount the TV on the wall and decorate the TV console. This time around I decided to switch things around and add some floating shelves above our TV. Now, I may not be the best at decorating, I don’t have many tricks, how-to’s or went to school for this but I do research, get inspiration from Pinterest and try my best. 

I have noticed, I tend to like cohesive decorating, same color scheme, etc. so, with that being said, I went into decorating the shelves the same way – haha. As you can see, my coffee table indeed is way.. I mean WAY smaller than I had previously so I know I would use my decorative books on the shelves. I also used the same flowers, tiny vases and bookend’s. As I mentioned, cohesive. I then added a picture frame, candles and some decorative sculptures, voilà! 

There’s really no wrong way to decorate floating shelves. They’re great for extra space if needed, a book collection or even some statement piece you want to showcase.
