Small Kitchen Decor/Pop of Blue

Happy Wednesday – Half way till the weekend!

As you can see from my prior home decor post – Summer/ Tropical blues seem to be a theme and here’s another reason why. Blue backsplash…

Now, I was not a fan of this kitchen at all when I first saw it. Although it’s clean and modern, It’s also very small. There was no island – Which is a big no no for me – We didn’t have many drawers for utensils AND lets talk about the dishwasher for a second because it’s so tiny, I can’t even fit my pots and pans. Don’t get me wrong, this place had so much more storage than our last apartment but the kitchen was not one of them. You will never find an apartment that meets all needs so dispute how tiny the kitchen is, I was able to make use of the space as much as possible.

First things first, I added an island cart to give additional meal prep counters as well as storage to add pots in the bottom. In addition, I love wine but since I don’t have much counter space, I added a wine rack as a pop of gold to tie back into the dining room. I used white jars for coffee, sugar and utensil holder. This makes the counter space appear larger and less cluttered.

Last, I added a very tall mirror, one for obvious reasons, my daily outfit details – lol two, to make the entire apartment appear larger.
