Thanksgiving Weekend in Vermont

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Sunday!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. 

As you might know, we ended up vising Vermont for the holiday, I mention on prior post how Ryan and I decided to travel this year for Thanksgiving and our 2 year Anniversary VS staying home, cooking and decorating our Christmas tree (Which I did early this year). What I find funny is that this same year back in January, we took our first trip of 2019 going skiing for the first time and now, at the end of this year our last trip of 2019 happens to also skiing. Safe to say we liked it? – lol

This particular mini getaway, I didn’t take too many pictures. This was a relaxing time with the honey and feasting for Thanksgiving so I will post some of the pictures I did take.

| Stowe, Vermont|

Honestly, I wish I would have taken more pictures of this cute lodge town to show you, especially their Village Green / Ice rink but, there’s always next time. This small town is known for their hiking and skiing but offers so much more than that. The town is very inviting and neighborly, everyone was nice and helpful plus there’s also so many activities for you to do by yourself or with the entire family. They have an adventure course, which is great for zip lines, suspended bridges, treetop Adventures and even rock climbing. They have an amazing gondola ride to the top of the mount mansfield, which is Vermont’s highest summit with breathtaking scenery. We wanted to take the ride also because they have a restaurant called Cliff House with spectacular panoramic views with their floor -to- ceiling windows that frame the surrounding alphine peak but unfortunately they were not open for season till 2 more weeks – Ski season just opened on the 22nd of November

Now, on to the good part – skiing! 

Stowe Mountain’s ski area is comprised of Mount Mansfield (for more experienced skiers) and Spruce Peak (for the less experienced skiers). They have many trails for all ages and offer lessons as well. We got to see all the little kids bundled up in their ski gear learning how to snowboard/ski, this was the cutest thing! Ryan & I are among those little kids – LOL- we are definitely beginners at this so maybe one day we’ll take lessons. I attached a view of the trails and lifts from the ski resort so if you do plan on going, you can plan accordingly plus the only few pictures Ryan & I took – make sure to check my Instagram (Lisnet.rodriguez) for more stories on our trip – I was hoping for some sun to come out while skiing but nope, only came out on Saturday – which made it colderrrr!

Here’s a list of some of the top 3 locations we were thinking of staying, unfortunately booked out for Thanksgiving weekend but if you have a chance to plan ahead, checked them out. 

1. The Lodge at Spruce Peak  – The number one reason why I think I’ll be back, just to stay here! 
2. Topnotch Resort 
3. Trapp Family Lodge

Last, I want to mention where we stayed – Field Guide Lodge — This place is only 10 minutes away from  Spruce Peak, the staff was inviting, friendly and nice. The hotel had major renovations back in 2015, which you can tell from the pictures I’ll show you below, the lobby is stunning with modern furniture, beautiful decor and cozy fireplaces. The prices are very affordable for such a nice and cozy place to interact and be sociable.  They have a selection of rooms to chose from, also nicely updated. Overall, I would recommend, Ryan & I honestly spend most of our time, if not skiing, down at the lobby just relaxing by the fireplace while drinking some wine.
